Petition Summary

The petitioner considers it an individual grievance that those UK citizens who voted to remain in the EU have still lost their EU citizenship. As a remedy, he requests that the European Parliament either allow the individuals to retain their EU citizenship (with any necessary legally binding undertakings) or create, under the Treaty, some form of “associate individual citizenship” (with rights and duties to be defined by the Parliament) allowing those who wish for it to retain as close links as possible with the Union.
